Installation instruction – Roller blind with cord pull
Before you start
You will need:
Pencil, Hooks, Cleat, Screws, Power drill (optional)
You will find the supplied components per blind:
Hooks – Two hooks for blinds from 30-120 cm, three hooks for blinds over 120 cm.
A cleat – An important part of the child safety system.
Screws – Two screws for mounting of the cleat
When you receive the blind, there will be two plastic rings at the top of the cord pull. The rings must be loosened, to the desired length of the blind. The function of the rings is an important part of the child safety system. If a child get’s tangled or hangs in the cords, the rings will stop the cords and trigger the safety system on the back of the blinds, causing the blind to fall down to the floor.
Step 1 – Hold the blind up to the window frame. Mark where the hooks will be inserted. The hooks can be installed either vertically or horizontally into the frame.
If possible use a power drill to drill a small hole for easier installation.
Step 2 – Screw the hooks into the window frame. Hang the blind on the hooks.
To lock: Move the cord of the blinds to the right. To unlock, move downwards slightly to the left.
Lowering: Pull the cord downwards and diagonally towards the centre of the blind (left) to release the cord lock. Then allow the blind to drop by letting the cords slip through your fingers at this angle. An angle of approximately 45 ° between the cord and the headrail is optimal.
Raising: Pull the cord straight down until the desired position is reached. Holding the cord towards the edge of the blind will help engage the cord lock to secure the blind in this position.
Step 3 – Install the cleat provided not less than 150cm from the floor. Wind the cord around the cleat, to keep it out of reach of children. This is an essential child safety device.
Trim the cords if necessary so there are no loose cords dangling. Trim the cords when the blind is rolled out at the desired length, to ensure the cords will not be too short.
Child Safety
- When you receive the blind, there will be some plastic rings at the top of the cord pull. The rings must be loosened along the full length of the blind before you can roll it out for the first time. The function of the rings is to prevent the cord and the blind from rolling out further than desired. This function is there to prevent choking accidents.
- The safety cleat shall be installed as close to the headrail as possible and in all cases not less than 150cm from the floor. The cord must be fully accumulated around the safety cleat when the blind is not in use so it does not dangle loosely. To avoid a choking hazard, the cords must be kept away from children.
- A plastic breakaway toggle is placed on the back of the blind. This is an essential part of the child safety system. This toogle will be triggered if weight is added to the cords, and the blind will fall to the ground.
Warning
All our blinds conform with the Child Safety European legislation (EN13120). Young children can strangle in the loop of pull or chain cords. They can also wrap cords around their necks. To avoid this, keep the cord out of reach of children. Install the cleat a minimum of 150 cm from the floor. Move beds, cots and furniture away from window covering cords. Do not tie cords together. Make sure cords do not twist and create a loop. Ensure all the supplied child safety devices are fitted as per our instructions, either by yourself or a fitter.
Installation instruction – Roller blind with chain pull
Before you start
You will need:
Pencil, Brackets, Bracket covers, Child safety, Power drill (optional)
You will find the supplied components per blind:
Two brackets
Two bracket covers
A child safety chain tension device
Please note that screws are not included, since the type of screws can vary, depending on the material on which the blind is mounted. We recommend using at least two screws per bracket.
Step 1
Choose how to mount the brackets (top or face mount). The blind can be front or reverse rolled. Screw the brackets into the desired position. Check to ensure they are aligned evenly and are straight. Screws are not supplied.
Step 2
Fit blind into brackets. Always insert
the side with the spring loaded pin first, and then the clutch with the chain pull afterwards.
Step 3
Add the covers to the brackets if needed. The covers slide into place from the front.
Step 4
Install the child safety device at the bottom of the chain, ensuring that it is completely straight and at least 150 cm from the floor.
Child Safety
- Child safety device / Chain tensioning device – Keeps chain loops under continuous tension and secures them to the wall, so stops the cord or chain from forming a loop. Install this a minimum of 150 cm from the floor.
- Chain height – Install the chain a minimum of 150 cm from the floor.
